"So many times we get in the way by trying to preach to someone about what God has done in our lives, when the most effective thing we could od is to just life up the name of Jesus. When people see Jesus liefted up, they want to experience that. He's sobeautiful, they immediately fall in love with him and want to get to know him." [ Mark Stuart, WJQ FM, 2000]
"Will is the heart of Audio Adrenaline -- the oil that keeps us spinning. He has the huge compassionate heart and workds the hardest, specifically on the road." [ Mark Stuart, CCM Magazine, April 2003 ]
"I want to stress that anything good in our lives and our music is God's doing. As I've said before, I don't think we're that good, but God can do great things through us if we let him." [ Will McGinniss, Campus Life Magazine, July/August 1998 ]
"Bob will remind me it isn't about us singing, or playing good, it is about what God can do." [ Mark Stuart, CCM Magazine, April 1996 ]
"We want the ground to be level between us and our fans. Maybe it's because of the glam-rock era we grew up with. We hate that, and just want to be regular guys." [ Will McGinniss, Release Magazine, May/June 1996 ]
"We want to reach kids, like skater kids, that wouldn't necessarily just walk into a church. I think we're gonna target that kid on this tour, and we're gonna make it as wild a show as I can. But when they hear us talk, they're gonna hear us say something different - it'll be about God. And hopefully, they'll be blown away with these bands that can be so wild and sound so great, but still talk about God. And hopefully, that'll be what draws 'em to God." [ Will McGinniss, HM Magazine, Jan/Feb 1998 ]
"We're ready to take it on and see how God's gonna bless it!" [ Will McGinniss, HM Magazine, Jan/Feb 1998 ]
"We are leading a rebellion. It's a rebellion for Jesus Christ. It's a rebellion for morals and ethics to come back, for people to take family seriously..."We're leading a righteous rebellion, if you will, and rock 'n' roll certainly does aid in that because it's all about getting fired up, it's all about that sound that gets you pumped up and all of it's for a good cause. We think Christ Jesus was the most radical person who ever walked the earth. I've said it often from stage: 'Those of you who think you're punks out there, I dare you to be like Jesus Christ and be radical and rebellious like he was.'" [ Will McGinniss, JAM! Music, Oct. 2000 ]
"The funny thing about Mark is that he wants to be 'Johnny Hollywood,' but he's always going to be Virgil Owensboro. He wants to be the guy who hangs out in Hollywood and dresses really nicely, but he can't hide the fact that he's from Owensbor, Kentucky. It comes out of him every once in a while - the 'Opie-ness'. He's fun, but he's still got a bit of the mullet inside of him." [ Ben Cissell, CCM Magazine, April 2003 ]
"We're not a band that's terribly musical and indulging ourselves on stage to please ourselves. We're a band that's more aout the audience and getting them stoked. It's seeing the kids' faces light up when we play their favorite song. That's what we feed off of." [ Will McGinniss, CCM Magazine, April 2003 ]
"We really like to think of the people who come to our concerts as friends - not fans. We don't want to come across as better than anybody. We don't ever want to come out on the stage and act like rock gods... I just want them to see us as ordinary guys who can do some pretty foolish stuff sometimes, yet who still want to love their God... We just wanna play music. We have our problems, we have our sins. It's bad for anyone to idolize us or any Christian artist. We are human beings. The only one you should worship is God." [ Mark Stuart, Campus Life Magazine, May/June 1995 ]
"We're not great muscians, we're not excellent singers of performers, but God always seems to put us in places where He can use us. we kinda' consider ourselves the misfits of Christian music." [ Mark Stuart, CCM New Music Magazine Aug/Sept 1999 ]
"We're all very different guys and God somehow uses our differences." [ Will McGinniss, CCM New Music Magazine Aug/Sept 1999 ]

"Our number one goal is to spread the gospel. I think people see our joy and happiness as were up there having a good time. We want them to know where we get that from, and that is Jesus Christ." [ Bob Herdman, CCM Magazine, February 1998 ]
"Singing about sex and drugs is the easiest thing to do. It's old by now. So pretty much the most rebellious rock-and-roll person you can be is a Christian-rock frontman because you get people from every side trying to shut you down." [ Mark Stuart, Newsweek, July 16, 2001 ]
"God just took us and in spite of our weaknesses, used us as a tool." [ Mark Stuart, Mail Tribune News ]
"Sex really is worth waiting for. Dont rush into a situation that youll later regret. Im married, and Im glad I waited. Its not that I didnt struggle with temptation. I had some close calls. But I held strong and am thankful that God saved me for my wife." [ Tyler Burkum, Breakaway Magazine, 2002 ]
"Our music has really been blessed. Im not an incredible singer, Wills not any great bass player, Tyler isnt the worlds greatest guitaristand Ben . . . well, he just has a bad haircut! Generally speaking, we feel God gives us our songs. And He gives us favor." [ Mark Stuart, Breakaway Magazine, 2002 ]
"Our hearts' passion is for people to know that we're Christian guys, and that our message is sincerely about God. We feel it's our goal to let kids know that Christians aren't boring, and that rock 'n' roll is not sinful and 'of the devil.'" [ Will McGinniss, CCM Magazine, Feb. 1998 ]
We all believe we were called to do this not just to entertain, but to evangelize and to encourage. Its not just about a band, its about a lifestyle. Its about kids relating to modern day Christianity, which is a lot different than just going to church. Its about showing them how we can live in and affect this culture, and still belong to God. There may come a time when what were doing is redundant, but as long as Gods favor is on us and we keep making records that bring people to the throne of God and into His presence, then well keep on going. [ Mark Stuart, WJQ FM, 2000 ]
"If it doesn't have a spiritual element, it's not worth all the effort. No secular band could come in with the same kind of effect-- it's just empty: it's music and then the band leaves and there's nothing left behind." [ Mark Stuart, 3.16 Magazine, Summer 1994 ]
"We started the band 10 years ago, thinking it would be a cool ministry for one summer, but weve been amazed at how things have fallen into place since then." - Will
"We kind of got in it sort of as just a hobby or a fun little project, and when we started getting attention, you know, we thought maybe we should pursue this." - Barry
"So often I stop and think, Man, do I really do this for a living?! Its amazing how God gives each of us unique gifts and uses us for His glory. Through the years, Ive come to realize this: Its amazing what God can accomplish through a bunch of losersfrail, sinful human beings who really dont have it all together. The Holy Spirit shows up and moves each night at our concerts. He transcends our humanity and does a great work." - Tyler
"Basically, I just write the songs that God inspires me to write. Yet its so humbling when someone thanks us for a tune. I usually feel totally unworthy, because it really had nothing to do with me. Hey, I struggle with the same temptations, the same things, as everyone elsebeing lonely and confused. I just write about what I know and experience. God is the One who blesses it." - Mark
"What motivates me to write a song? Why am I a musician? I want to encourage the church. I especially want a nonbeliever to find hope in God. The Lord can use music as a tool to change livesand thats how I want Him to use us."- Will
"For some weird reason God chose us to have this huge platform. We dont know why, and were really not worthy of it, but well use it for what we do... The responsibility that comes with that is incredible and sometimes a burden, but that burden is really cool to have. We don't take it lightly. We certainly feel a responsibility to share the gospel and get kids involved in church, maybe for the first time. - Ben
